Environmental and Social Impact Assessment

Earth Systems is experienced in conducting multi-disciplinary environmental and social impact assessments for mining, energy and waste management projects in Australia, SE Asia, S. America and Africa. This expertise includes the management of multi-disciplinary teams and a range of international and local experts to prepare international standard environmental and social impact assessments that meet national regulatory requirements for project permitting.

Earth Systems also has expertise in building EIA / SIA teams that combine local expertise and skills in developing and least-developed countries with international experts to ensure an international standard quality of work.

Mine Site Environmental Management and Monitoring

Earth Systems has prepared and implemented international standard management and monitoring programs for mining projects throughout the world (e.g. Australia, Papua New Guinea, Lao PDR, Thailand, Indonesia, China, Argentina, Peru, Tanzania, Senegal, and Mali). Mine site environmental management services have included:

• Development of an Environmental Management System (EMS) consistent with the ISO14001 standard.
• Preparation of Standard Operating Procedures, manuals and training programs to support implementation of the EMS.
• Establishing baseline and compliance monitoring programs, including the procurement, installation and maintenance of automated monitoring systems for remote locations;
• Preparation of regular monitoring and compliance reports; and
• Assistance with the preparation of annual Sustainability Reports.

Earth Systems mine site environmental management programs are targeted to ensure that statutory requirements are met at the lowest possible cost to the project owner.
